Just a quick one relating to my progress thread
Where should I go next?
Tried to add a poll but not sure if it's worked
Anyway:
A - save for MOT/possible issues - February 2012
B - engine mounts - january 2012
C - piper exhaust system - January 2012
D - carbon fibre engine bay parts
E - showcage and black door cards and black harnesses

Id put some money to one side for the mot and then decide on future mods.

Thanks for the fast response!
I'm not sure though because I'm pretty sure I'll need a new rear beam :/ which ain't cheap and that will push future mods further back and I'm an impatient S.O.B :D

dont be stupid with it, or you'll end up with a modified car you cant drive... and thats worse than having an unmodified car that you can :)
Just stick to cheap things for now :)

I'm thinking save big for MOT, anything left over is a bonus for mods?
Might go the whole hog with a full service and MOT

It's good to have do many ideas but if it doesn't go through the mot your stumped :)

The reason listed those others is because there is a gap between mods and MOT, or am I risking it and being under prepared for a possibly problematic MOT?

Id iradicate the last pole option alltogether lol, thought it was a joke.

Save for MOT and any problems replace with better aftermarket parts :)

Haha I'm still unsure about first and last part of E, definitely need some black door cards though!

Yeah that sounds about right, or should I pre-MOT, and change before failure?

what about getting it pre-tested to see if there is any major problems with it ?

60% MOT 40% carbon fibre bits there's nothing sexier than some carbon fibre

Exhaust system first
Then save for MOT

Visual mods are a waste of time, they cost money and you barely get anything back when you sell them.

Show cages are Ghey...

piper system will decat it, so no point fitting it for a month surely :/

i understand what you're saying about visual mods, i just want to tidy up aspects, like black doorcards for the interior, and carbon fibre engine bay parts

and yeah, it seems a losing battle to go with the showcage and harnesses on a road non track car :D

I have the money to mod and MOT but am I taking it by modding before MOT?

Well is say engine mounts. When you say black door cards do you mean the pov spec 1.1 ones?

Show cage is a waste of money imo. Carbon for the engine bay? I want some of your money lol.

1st person with engine mounts i think! - whose to choose though?
no, hate the bung in the window winder! needs to be either leather wrapped VTR/Furio/VTS ones :D

Show cage isnt popular, its not gonna happen :D
Yes of course carbon engine bay parts :D gonna have a bash at forming them myself first anyway :D

I have heard (could be wrong) that because they are so light, they could easily break in a crash and make things worse?

this is a no brainer
s aready posted --get it pre-moted by test station you intend to use --, that should make sure when you go for testing there are no unexpected failure items
see how BAD YOUR PROBLEMS ARE BEFORE spending anything on bling or performance --maybe it is time look hard at the costs to have a road worthy car first or maybe its to change to a better starting platform before modifying
at least this way you will know all the present and next years possible problems before you spend anything

Piper - good choice! I've always had Piper's love them :D

Just a shame they dont do a stealth rear box for the 172 or I'd have one again.

nah its not that expensive, im looking at 400 quid minimum for a system for the clio! :fcuk:

lovely and deep, pops and bangs if you want them on overrun, big flames with decat. I was getting foot long flames out the back of my S with a mani too, sounded awesome!

what size is that?

looks to fit in the recess nicely!
want outwardly rolled but cant decide if 3.5 is too big, 3 is too small????

axle sadly :/
but thats tighter than an old japanese man squinting now!

other than that, blowy exhaust, new parts fitted :D
headlight beam - adjusted - can actually see in the dark :P
leaky caliper - swapped
loose wheel arch trim - sorted

so an expensive pass, but a pass none the less!

thats just a vid i found on ewetoob.

had a 3.5" inward rolled on my vts, sitting a bit high here

and 3" outward rolled on my R

preferred the look of the outward rolled tbh

ugh!
if the inward was an outward, man that would help! :P
it looks tight, but could be because of the sitting high issue
the 3" just looks that little bit lost :/
or is it just right and the 3.5" just too big!?

argh!!!

TBH I had measurements of the OD of both tailpipes somewhere and they came to pretty much the same figure. upto you if you prefer the look of inward or outward, both sit very nicely in the recess. IMO 3.5 outward would be too big.
