I no what the score is, i read a few things on here and alot of people said its aload of bullshit that it has any benefits at all. Which is wrong.

When i went to RS tuning and we took marks 205Gti-6 it was suffering with lacking air, so when we got back we planned to use northamptons rolling road anyway to get figures we could compare to all our other cars. So Matt port & polished a throttle body for the 205, and while he was at it he threw one my way, we didnt no if mine was going to make any difference and to be honest we wernt so worried as the 205 was the main one we were concerned about.

So we went to the rolling road and did some before and after jobbies. here are the results. Please note im not saying this is the best modification in the word and both cars have been cammed and mapped previous to this.

First thing that is noticable is throttle response, it is better and the car picks up abit quiker through the rev range which helps alot with heal & toe.

Graphs speak a million words so here they are, both the same day both the same car (one being mine one being the 205.) Also note that the increased rev's on my graph do not alter the power reading the 151 was made before the extra rev's

Saxo vts - Before: 149bhp After: 151bhp

205Gti-6 - Before: 192 After: 195.5

When you look at the saxo graph its pretty much no different over the entire rev range bar 7200 onwards, with marginal difference.

The 205 is totally different in comparrison.

Yea the gti-6 made a huge difference for the time spent compared to the TU but id still say its well worth it for the cost to power gain.

Yea this is true it does need to be done properlly or its a waste of time, however this was done with a dremell and flatted out smooth.

One thing to also consider is some peoples TBs are a state as standard too. With the recircullation of oil vapour and general gunk a decent clean can also make marginal differences.

Also gotta think of ambient air temps and general engine temps on the rollers both have a effect on bhp.
