single plug ecu into a 3 plug car

Okay, I have taken the 8 valve black top VTR engine out of my 98 single plug ECUd xsara, what's to stop me droping the engine and box into the 51 plate 3 plug desire?

It just seems a waste binning it all, I've got the engine, box, loom, ecu, keys, transponder and all the rest. Is it not just a case of sorting out splicing the engine loom into the saxos loom?

Needs the loom splicing, you wont have to fuck about with keys etc. just splice the loom and it will go in. will need to use your driveshafts and mostlikely your gearbox or modify the short shaft from 1.1 to use on the vtr box. will also need the 1.1 engine upper mount and a few other bits and peice's that you will have from the vtr engine neways

That's what I was thinking, I've just used most of the 406 wiring in the xsara. I'm just debating which car would be the most fun. The xsara is completely stripped interior wise. When I last weighed it with just a very basic strip (rear seats, belts, plastics etc) and the vtr lump it stood at 1040kg, and now its just got the heater, dash and front seats but a heavier XU turbo engine its probably about the same.
But the saxo is lighter still with full interior. Decisions decisions.

saxos are fun man, i am a xsara fan but they are pretty heavy! ive got 151bhp and weigh 832kg

Yeah I had no intentions of keeping rthe saxo till I started driving it, I'd forgotten how fun small lightweight cars are. I'm thinking of selling the xsara when its done and doing something serious with the saxo.
