on my 16v i got like an oil cooler thing lol

theres 2 pipes coming from my top hoes and goes to something that looks like a sandwich plate thats fitted between the oil filter and the block... am i right thinking this is a oil cooler?

if i want to fit a sandwich plate for an oil filter and relocation kit do i just remove this or do i have to do anything special with it lol

Yes thats an oil cooler.

Ive removed mine.....its a very simple procedure, you just have to replace the filter securing stud from citroen and fit a mk1 radiator top hose.

Would i not be better off keeping the hose tho as the turbo needs a water feed?

How do you do this? Just remove it all and then fit the stud or whatever that the normal oil filter bolts to?

Ah ok so you just screw the stud into place so that it shortens the filter and isn't sticking out to far kinda thing?

Also would I not be better off using the 16v top hose with the two extra pipes for my turbo water feed?

Oh yea I forgot you were using a mancharger. Yea mate keep the hose. I've managed to get my hands on one I think.

Yea, the end plate moves the filter to your chosen location, so you have more space,

check my thread.

How you planning to lower compression btw mate?

hoping to go forged internals mate but depends on funds tbh lol if it comes to it il just use a decomp plate

still, cant believe with the cituning stage 1 kit that they dont touch compression =/ lol

Fuck there kits they're Silly money. Better off getting a decomp, and use the Left over funds to buy a good turbo + standalone ecu. Forgies are for big power tbh. Fitting them you may aswell do a full engine rebuild, which is pricey...

Yeah I know lol... Well I am thinking of running a decomp plate and having a low boost setup and source a 16v lump to rebuild whilst having a taste of boost still lol

i can't believe they dont remap the ecu, tbh as steves just said for that money you could get a decomp/hg/turbo/mani/downpipe/pred/mapping/controller and a intercooler kit. If this nugget thats trying to scam me actually sends the oil cooler back it'll be going back up for sale. 10row mocal cooler with braided lines, you can get a extension with these for buttons which relocate the oil filter and closes the hole where the filter used to be giving you more room.

Exactly rorz,

Pug you should fit the decomp and spec your car correctly, it will be quick providing you choose the correct turbo, fueling, etc. I think you will be using a gt25? Which is a very good turbo. That's what I'm after.

I plan to do the same, I want a 16v lump to work on over this year, slowly rebuild it how I want for a turbo application, then choose what car I plan to put it in.;) I need a freaking engine crane first though lol.

Cool stuff... stevo I will be starting off with a gt17 from rorz whilst I build up the other engine to go in the car, I just wanna start with a low boost setup so I can get a feel of the boost in a 16v lol I have never owned a turbo petrol car! lol
