An intercooler is an air-to-air or air-to-liquid heat exchange device used on turbocharged and supercharged

Aha, noooo it's to cool the very hot air coming from a Turbo, Because heat robs power :)

Look into a better oil cooler for your VTS, and a bigger Radiator also :)

You're welcome :)

Do you have a VTS or a VTR?

For a VTR, A dual core VTS Rad will do wonders and a 16 row oil cooler.

I have this on mine and it runs a lot cooler than standard.

Also, means more power because it's running cooler :)

not if its too cool, it can loose power and increase wear

you shouldn't need the oil cooler with a standard s engine unless you're repeatedly hammering it round laps of a track?

I have just standard radiator and no oil cooler on my vts and never had over heating problems on the road.

I'd be worried the oil temp would be too low in winter with the oil cooler? Somebody with one might correct me though.

Too cool is bad for an engine!

Was about to post this
a 16 row on a standard vts is too much unless its thermosrated and then its pointless as its thermostated

Ive got a 13 row on mine thats ample for thrashing around at 8k everywere lol

Too cool your oil wont lubricate properly and you will damage the internals of your engine
Its why the gti is left ticking over till the oil temp at least moves before i even drive it as that puts as little wear on the engine as possible
