FALSE!

Requires a rubber gasket!

They come as new with a gasket bonded onto them.

You need to remove all of the old stuff and then file down the raised bits so they sit flush. Then use some instant gasket. I use wynns i think, comes in a self dispensing can.

16 valve doesn't have a seperate gasket, they are integral with the covers. If you want to do the job 100% by the book you'd be buying new covers hence why 99.9% of people use sealant on them

They use gasket sealant. Only 8v's use the rubber gasket

Why do people answer questions when they dont know what there talking about?

Kris is correct.

Also you have 'Cam covers' not a 'Rocker cover'

as kris says, remove the cover, scrape of all sealant/gasket etc, you'll see a series of raised bumps that are there to prevent the OE seal over-compressing, file these flush and apply a thin bead of rtv sealer around the gasket face and re-fit. don't need tons of sealer as its effectively then a "face-fit".
