hi guys
im rebuilding a vtr at the moment but funds are lacking for low comp pistons and rods,
i want to get it all running with all other parts sorted and when money allows sort the bottom end.
but what sort of power will the engine take, fairly reliably??

Fit a decomp, and sort fueling properly I.e standalone ecu, and the internals are good for 220bhp easy. Proberly way more.

If your engine is a single plug ecu type, the id recommend getting the predator pnp ecu.
lutor on here can supply them and does some kind of deal in the price tag where he road maps your car iirc.not 100% sure but i think its £500 including a mapping session. very good deal imo.
if its a 3 plug ecu then your proberly looking at an omex...
ive managed to pick up a mega-squirt standalone ecu for £230 with a modified single plug box. pretty much plug and play.
so they are out there cheap - you just need to keep an eye out:P
also to note, you will need to choose 4 bigger injectors along with an uprated fuel pump.

yea mine is a 3 plug car right now, so will check out omex etc..
what injectors would you suggest, only wanting around 180bhp to start if possible until i can getting a properly built engine
and fuel pump wise, is that a walbro 255 or similar??
cheers and sorry for the questions but trust me you are helping

Clicky (http://www.gmcmotorsport.co.uk/engine/fuel-system/injectors/pico-type-iwp069-injector/prod_610.html)They will see you 200bhp and are extremely cheap £36 each.
A Walbro 255 such as Clicky (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WALBRO-255-FUEL-PUMP-FITS-CITROEN-SAXO-VTS-16v-/170574653397?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item27b70aa7d5#ht_4471wt_992) wil be fine.
