do you have the cat in your manifold
Colin
23rd July 2006, 18:01
Nope. But that one will wipe out your middle box. But it act as a De-cat for any other Saxo, but not the one with the cat in the manifold.
You will need another manifold!

No it would'nt. But its all down to bore sizes and baffle to how an exhaust sounds. De-catting would make it louder and a bit raspy.
But that pipe that I showed you would link to your manifold and your backbox nicely.
Its up to you really!

Sorry, last post was sposed to be before yours!
The Cybox ones are 1.75inch bore. And there in 2 parts so you risk a good seal.
But its stainless and mandrel bent so yeah, its pretty good!
Colin

Yep thats the one. Best to look under your car and see if the pipe looks the same.

good point
Colin

Should do yeah. Should be direct fit. Supersprint are pretty good so quality and fitment should be as they describe.
But ill say, please check under your car to make sure its a similar layout!

Sorry to :hijack: . Refers to your centre middle section. I have been looking into getting a remus racing exhaust section. Are these any good? They are 2"diameter I believe. Would it make the car faster aswell due to the backpressure or slower? Cheers for the help.

The remus ones are 1.75" bore as I asked on Ebay.
There just as good as any other i'd imagine.
They would make your car louder and yes a little would be gained but N/A engines need a little backpressure to scavenge the next cycle of gases out.
The middle box keeps the back-pressures and sound pressure waves at there best. But if you were to get your car setup then there would be no problems.

Really 1.75", I swear I asked and he said 2". Ow well I will be getting a manifold aswell when I get round to it, will that affect it aswell?

Im not sure what bore it is now!
What type of manifold? 4-1 or 4-2-1?
droopster
24th July 2006, 09:32
Raceland 4-2-1.
Colin
24th July 2006, 09:36
Thats alright then, the low down power you may loose with a straight through could be canceled out by a 4-2-1 giving good low end power.
Well, thats my logic in the situation!

Would it be better just to get the manifold then and not the centre section? I am after low down power. Cheers bud

Depend on weather you have a cat-back system with 2 boxes or not.
What system are you running? Are you de-catted or not?
I would have the Raceland 4-2-1, de-cat, then a System e.g. Magnex

I brought the car with just a custom exhaust at the back and standard system so far. Was thinking of gettin a remus, raceland but leave the cat in. What do you think about that?
Colin
24th July 2006, 11:02
Defo get the raceland.
I noticed my car reving much more freely when I de-catted it. Do it if you don't mind being Illegal or do it just after your MOT.
As for a system. Customs are good and aslong as you have the standard centre section now, then your backbox will meet perfectly to a Remus one.
