just changed the cambelt and back box test drive and everythings good, feels fantastic... went and got fuel and my fiancee comment about the steering being heavier than normal naturally thought it was the weight of the fuel... going up the slip road onto the a13 and put foot down to catch up speed and ping!!! battery light... lost power steering totally, and lights were gradually going. wipped round to my mates and lights even dimmer and then wouldnt start.... jumped it and didnt get back to my house before car lost all power and just died... i think alternator... anyone else had a similar problem? also is there anyone in essex area that has one for sale i wouldnt normally put it in here but kinda desperate....
thanks

had something simular, probs won't be the same problem but the cable to the alternator snapped where it bolts to the alternator. worth a check.

Did you remember to put the Alternator belt back on?

yeah double checked that cus thought it might have been a bit tight and checked the main power cable and the electric ecu cable as well took all them off and terminal cleaner on them so hopefully not that and yeah the belt is ok not slipping can see the alternator spinning in the houing i know it doesnt mean alot but its turning just hoping its that and not something thats knocking it out, was wobbing as well through the exhaust when running and had a massive run on o i assume thats from where the power was dropping and messing up the ecu to run it all, btw its the phase 2 98bhp vtr
