Right im now thinking of taking the cat and silencer out.

Any issues with it? like overfueling no engine lights? ideally with a lambda sensor hole in.

Unsure was going to get catback pipe but... :panic:

Yours in a mk2 so you've got two lamdba sensors - you'll need to sleeve one so it doesnt put the EML light on. Its still going to fail emissions tests though with a decat and straight through - mine is, so I'm putting a cat back in. Also it will be LOUD

Yeah im aware of that. :homme:

Bah maybe its easier just taking the silencer out.

Loud with a 2" :zainy: not wanting it too loud.

Remove cat, keep silencer, sleeve lambda. Won't sound as stupid then.

Its going pretty cheap, very cheap. What do these retail at?

Those hangers look massive. I'll be surprised if it hangs correctly off a VT* bumper. A non-VT* model maybe...

Its going to take me forever to decide the perfect exhaust. :panic:

What do you currenly have fitted?

Prickle
9th March 2012, 10:54
OE system with 2" mild Supersprint.

It sounded awesome on my old 1.1 with just a cat underneath no silencers (98 flat arch). So im going to try out a none silenced centre section then hopefully it sounds raspier/abit louder.

Atm it sounds uncool.

Perfect exhaust is the BTB. End thread.

But seriously, looking at that backbox you'll need the standard VT* centre section to fit it correctly.

and keep the cat. happy days and it wont be ti loud either

Yeah cat will stay, silencer is going in the shed and the backbox maybe. Im just sick of posting in for sale threads for a catback and getting "il get back to you" and some prices that cost of a new one! and then they dont. Does my tits in.

Yeah they cost a fortune though haha. I wouldnt be bothered about the weight of it.

Anyway im sick of looking for exhausts, talking about them hearing them. Im going to get that catback pipe and be done with it. If it still sounds shit then it will have to do.

Ah so that will be too loud. :( :(

I just want a nice tone when you boot it, odd pop. Nothing ott.

Last car sounded good but il be honest it was a nightmare and was far from quiet on motorways.

I posted a vid of it the otherday on here.

I would suggest a 421 mani with full supersprint if you want pops and bangs. 3k plus and all you will do is smile.

On my phone so apologies if its been mentioned.

I havent got the money to splash out on a 421 atm. Well i have but its not for that.

Is there much gain with a 421 on a vts? are the standard mani's restrictive?

That 1.4 can't be kicking out much noise then. On a VTS it sounds tres terrible - I remember Jason faggoting on in car park the morning of FCS 3-4 years ago. Kept revving it thinking he was a hero. I wanted to strangle him.

Baz

nah it is actually pretty loud tbh....check out said video on progress thread lol, or wait till FCS if your attending?
