vtr mk2 turbo cam?...

right guys basicly i have a piper turbo cam and turbo followers kicking about cost about £300 new, just woundering if i fitted it to a standard vtr engine with a gasflowed head if it would run ok without remap and what power would i expect? all my car has done engine wise at the mo is uprated airfilter and straight thru powerflow exhasut system, and i just want to make it that little bit more quicker without spending megga bucks

in all honesty id sell the turbo cam and followers and put that to a new exhaust system, powerflows sound nice, but make shocking power results.

get a decent branded 4-2-1 manfiold with the funds. will open it up abit.

best upgrade for you is a vts engine imo. conversions can be done by yourself for a few hundred quid mate. and having a vtr head gasflowed is silly unless running boost or bodies.

awsome cheers for the help mate, and i have got a decat 4-2-1 manifold with a powerflow system with only a back box and a sports cat underneath the car, i got it cheap so never bothered me about the cat, and yer i know someone who has a 106 GTI for sale which has had mega work on engine it does 140+ in 4th gear lol but hant got the money to buy it at the mo, i need an induction kit unall tbh that will help!

i have no idea mate never asked or thought about the box all i know is i was with him doing 140+mph in 4th gear

No i said mine has decat and airfilter, i said my mate has a 106 GTI which had had about 10K spent on the engine, i.e high comp pistons, bigger valves ported head, you name it its been done and that does about 140MPH+ in 4th! not mine! lol i wish

unless its boosted with a high rev limit on a diesel box or something...you got NO chance of getting anywhere near that

It's not boosted its high comp, it's had everything you could possibly upgrade done to the engine, and I don't know what box it's running
