Has anyone got the CORRECT torque setting for arp Conrod bolts using ARP lubricant?

I need correct info and not guesswork. Cheers Danny :)

That help? Im sure ive read that doing by bolt stretch gives a more accurate torque compared with just a torque wrench

Cheers Ross, I don't know what stress (load) to put in the bolt so I need a torque figure that people have used.

So long as the correct lubricant is used then normal torqueing will be accurate..

The reason they say that is people tend to use the wrong type or no oil.. This will then give the wrong residual load due to the load loss through friction.. With proper lubricant you will get nearly 5x the load as if you were to torque up dry.
Using the bolt stretch method is accurate because you can calculate the 'stretch' of the bolt because using the thread pitch you can calculate how many degrees would stretch the bolt a certain amount therefore the load in the bolt could be worked out.

Just a little bit of my knowledge haha

Not to sound like a total noob - but WHERE do you apply the lubricant, and how much do you use?

Lubricant is the most important aspect of the torqueing procedure.
You should apply the lube to the threads and the shoulder of the bolt.

Brill, cheers Danny.

How much lubricant comes with the bolts? and will you be using it all?

It's 26lbs ft

Greedo, the lubricant goes a long way.. I've used most of mine up now as I have ARP headstuds too and had to change them from my old engine to new one so had to regrease them all again.

Is that the sort of size that comes with the ARP rod bolts? I'm buying a second hand pair, that I need to source some of the lubricant for :)

Yes that's the stuff you need
