Dipstick Tube

Havinf some problems with refitting my oil dipstci ktube. I took it out because i thought it was all one to try fit my manifold, but now i can't get the tube to sit back in place. It doesn't look like it's snapped or anything, but just wont go back in the extra 3-5mm needed. Any ideas?

twist it as you push it down.

they are different across the range as i have found out before

tried that, but as said it's about 3-5mm short. Even tried a tap of the rubber hammer

is the little rubber ring still in place and hasn't got stuck in the tube?

thought there was only one on the middle bit?

had a look and i can't see any rubber ring in the block. Really need to get this sorted as i can't fit my manifold on until i do
