tune the vts lump

you will lose handeling if you put a bigger engine in and wont be cost effective

a 2.0 would cost thousands but it'll make ur car heavier and shit handling, so why bother? dunno about a gti-6 engine

i'd go for a vts engine, or just sell the vtr n buy a vts.

depends on how much money you have, the VTS would be your best bet as; its made for your car
wont cost great deal to do
with the extra cash you could tune it a little
will achieve better handling compaired to the 2.0 option

The GTI-6 is also a 2litre engine, fitting a 2.0 litre engine in a saxo isnt something new its been done many times before, but you have to consider the amount of cash and time it will take.
Plus the fact that it will never handle as well as the saxo will have done before hand due to the imbalance in front/rear weight distribution.

All really depends on what you want out of the car, do you just want to go fast in a straight line or is your car a daily driven car or is it a track car.

No point putting in a 2.0 engine in if your driving it to work every day for example.

yea it would be for work and jsut spinning about, money isnt really a prb or time.im 17 so i will need to keep it a vtr on the log book so selling it is out of the question.i kno that if i had a gti 6 it would have to b 5 speed.bike engine is also possible...R1 engine or summin..now that would b rapid

R1 engine conversions normally are found in the back of saxos and then the car would be totally stripped (would be a horrible car to live with every day!!)

Think they cost £10000+ if i remember correctly!!!

Not updating the log book is a big mistake tbh, not informing insurance may save you money there and then BUT if something did happen you would be screwed. Take it from me, loosing thousands isnt a nice feeling at all, to ad insult to injury waking up and seeing your smashed up car outside your window every day doesnt help!

Go with the VTS, easier to live with but still very fun.

Yea lol think most people on here know that feeling, best thing to do in this situation would be strip as much as the interior/excess weight that you could live with and then consider the VTS lump.

A car weighing under 900kg with 130/140 bhp isnt a bad start at all.

With the amount of cash needed for the R1 or the 2.0l conversion you could buy a proper car lol.

DIY kits from Z-cars, you are looking at around 6 grand plus the cost of the engine..

I'd go for the VTS lump.. Cammed and re-mapped and you'd be surprised what you'd keep up with. I'd pay some attention to brakes and suspension first..

2litre lumps have been done, but if you wanted to go down that route why not go for a Xsara engine rather than the 6 speed GTI..
