Does anyone have any previous experience or knowledge on an Airesearch M1 turbo? I am thinking of turboing my Vts and have been offered a Manifold, downpipe, intercooler and Airesearch M10 turbo, i have reserched them a little and found that they were standed on a 89-94 2.2/2.5 dodge turbo 174bhp. Would this be a good turbo to use or not and your reasons why? Also apparantly they were made to the same spec as a garrett turbo except better bearings.

"The turbo you have is a Garrett T3, The M10 is the casting number on the air housing and Aireserch is a division of Garrett industries(before they sold out to allied signal). This is a good turbo , but difficult to work with because of the strange exhaust housing shape, and the fact that it is backwards from every other T3 turbo. I dont know what A/R stands for but it is Garretts way of rating turbo size, the larger the number the biger the turbo and the larger the motor it is used on. .48A/R exhaust .42A/R air turbos are the most common 4 cylinder turbos, they were used on all of the turbo imports(SAAB,Volvo, ect.)and are good for motor sizes from 1.5 L up to 2.5 L and 5 to 30 PSI of boost."

Sounds quite promising to be honest, just will have to check for signs on wear and tear. How would i be able to check if the turbo was broke or on its way out?

"I use one. Great turbo. It's a nice happy medium between a fast-spooling TD05 and a T3 "Super 60"... Spools pretty fast, and makes consistant boost. I had a TD05 before, and like this turbo much better even though it is probably too big for my 1.6. The stock wastegate is adjustable. (at least mine is)"

It looks good except he has just told me it is a bare turbo so would i struggle to find a wastegate etc for it?

Or would a garrett t3 wastegate fit?

Cheers for the info, what exactly would I need to complete the turbo from a bare one and how much roughly to pick up the parts? Cheers
