Carbs obviously, inlet to mount carbs too, some way of getting spark (so dizzy setup or mapable spark only ECU), fuel lines and pressure regulators to drop the fuelling to a suitable level, throttle cable

and it will never pass an mot with carbs--so if a road car not the way to go
even for racing no one uses carbs unless the formula they race in specify carbs only

This is a myth there are a couple of lads on here with carbs with a full mot. My mate also has a carb set up on his civic ek9 and that passes fine. Carb's not passing the emissions test is a load of bullshit and forum myth. A well set up carb'd engine can walk through the emissions fine.

they may have a valid mot ,but the chances of a multiple carb set-up passing a REAL mot with a cat fitted is very very small.
there is no temparature correction on carbs so hwo can the fuelling be correct when cold + hot -- It cannot
carbs are cheaper to make than an egine managment system --so why do you think car makers changed to injection .
the very latest carb that hada carb fitted was made in 1991 and registered in 1992
and most car makers had gone to injection a long time before that due to the problems of complying with emissions regs
what is a myth is that you will take a set of seond hand weber dcoes and get them to perform as well as even the simplest of injection systems across the whole rpm range of an engine .
injection ssytemsd o not need regular tuning and adjustments wheras carbs most cetainly will
yes i could get a set of carbs to pass the mot ,but then would have to rejet/change emulsion tubes and air correctors etc them to get the best perfomance out of them .
the myth you are referring to is that posts by people who have little experience are more valid than people who do it for a living and have been for 30 years + and are fully conversant with both carbs + injection /engine managment systems

to have an idea you want to do, people do research to find out what they need and what to do just because they dont know anything now doesnt mean they shouldnt do it
before you had a car did you know everything about them or have you learned more through working on them
