First off. Hello, im new here :y: I recently brought a Vtr Phase 1 for 600 quid.

Im going to keep modifications simple for now as im a new driver and i will get stung by the insurance bandits. So i decided to look for an induction kit. came across the ones that are most likely made in india, They look decent with the stainless pipe and the blue air filter. but i don't imagine im going to get much added power.

Has anyone had any experience with these kits before? Ive already ordered it, for £37 delivered you cant really complain. apart from when the pipe starts rusting lol.

It will be about as good as any other cone filter really. It wont really add any extra power, but it should make a bit of a 'roar' noise.

You shoulda asked this before buying. £30 is VERY cheap for an induction KIT, most filters cost around that. You might get lucky and the kit isn't all that bad, but if the cone starts breaking after a week, you've been had !:n:

First thing I upgraded was the brakes. Wouldnt be supprised if you lost power with that kit in weather like this.

i had one off them on ebay. not that bad tbh for £30. you get a nice induction roar.
you can feel an ever so slight difference in throttle response but thats probs because your mind thinks its faster and makes you a bit more heavy footed. for the roar its worth £30 alone and you said you wanted simple mods so yeah its an ok start and wont disappoint you. would recommend upgrading it though when you get the chance.
or one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/APIRO-Large-Stainless-Steel-Air-Filter-HEAT-SHIELD-Performance-Induction-Kit-/310401094045?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item484558d19d
just to prevent a bit of heat soak from the manifold as that induction will sit quite near it.
oh looks quite ok under the bonnet too.

Im just praying now that there will be enough clerance between the cone and the engine itself. i have access to a welder and grinder so i can always modify the pipe if not. I was thinking of getting it powdercoated anyway lmao.

Just the inlet size is different. Will need a reducer pipe from eBay or the like.

Cone induction kits are useless, cars perform better with the standard setup

as i said earlier the inlet size on the vtr and vts are different via a few MM
either buy a reducer pipe or maybe a jubilee clip, but i don't think the latter would work very well.

tidy bay btw.

i think the vtr induction roar sounds crap! decent exhaust system and a K&N panel gets my vote

Update:

K guys just got home and ive now fitted the kit. Went straight on no problems, no need for a reducer pipe or anything :) It sounds alot better than the standard air filter unit. It gives of a hiss when you let off the gas and throttle response is now much better! Pictures to come real soon, Just need to get my camera back :afro:

It came with a blue hose that fits from the outlet on the car to the pipe on the kit. It came with two jubalie clips, and it held on there nice and tight. Im going to make up a bracket at work tomorrow as the induction kit is just resting there atm.
