Is it an engine out job? Seeing if it's worth doing as my Clio Valver is getting its new engine built

I knew the head has to come off but the block can stay in? Just on the Valver it's an engine out job.

Sounds like you should take it to a pro.

I've just put a Kent pt40 in mine, never took an engine appart before.
Went out, got all the tools i needed, new gaskets, seals and had the head flowed a little bit by a mate. Put it all back together and its now working fine.
I took a lot of time doing it so i could work out how everything worked and to make sure i didnt get anything wrong.
Was a good way of learning, but getting the correct tools arent exactly cheap.

its not even a head off job mate all your doing is taking the cam out and replacing it with another cam so no need for the head to come off you take the rocker cover off and take the cam loosen whats holding the cam in place obviously you take the cambelt off before.
cam out, cam in, bolt back together and race like a cunt

On the VTR the cam comes out the side of the head, doesnt lift out the top so it will be a head off jobby.
Unless you make a big hole in the side of your car :)
