advantages i think of they are usually cheaper (i sold some bike carbs on a inlet manifold for £100), use less wires if you are going for a clean looking engine bay
disadvantages can require constant setting up
id stick bike bodies, any injection throttle body is more straight forward to fit, with my jenveys all i had to do was bolt them on, cable tie the TPS sensr to the brake bar, solder in the new TPS, connect the fuel lines and throttle cable and away you go!
i have got a very limited knoweldge on carbs bare in mind so please wait for other responses that may be more accurate

Well it's on a VTR and people I ask always say do it on a VTS been quoted for everything brand new and fitted £700 all in

for £900 you can get the atpower bodies which bolt straight on to the 16v engine, not sure if they make them for the 8v's but fi they did i know what id prefer to have, second hand jenveys can be had for around £600, i got mine for £360!!! BARGAIN lol

Carbs sound better, IMO anyway.
Worth the sacrofice in a little performance to save the extra bob and the sound, but im more of a fan of carbs anyway. They're harder to set up and will need to be tweaked on the occasion, but you can DIY if you know how.
You cant remap a throttle body unless you take it to a specialist.

well when i fitted my bodies, cams and ecu i wanted a specialist to map it lol its not something you want to be doing your self in your garage, and once its done, its done
my house mate had a 1,4 xsi on carbs did sound good, wouldnt idle for the first 5 min then it was fine warmed up

Yeah its nice to just put stuff on and forget about them, but thats booring lol. I'd have nothing to do in my spare time if that was the case :)
Did he have them on a manual choke?
My mate has a polo running carbs and they had a shitty automatic choke which caused no ends of trouble, put a manual one on there and its sweet as a nut now.

Bike carbs only need to be checked once every 3years if that they hardly ever go out of balance unlike webber twin 40s which go out of balance twice a day lol, tbf tho mate if you have a car that is injection already go bodies due to having the swirl pot ready in the tank/pump but up to you pal.

Bike injection throttle bodies and bike carbs require a lot of the same work to be done to fit them well. Biggest advantage with injection is you can get more power across the rev range even more so at lower rpm, get better throttle response, use less fuel and/or have a longer lasting engine. I say and/or as it really depends what you are after. But all in all the injection system is a much better option for similar work and money as a good carb setup. Though there are many kits that fit right on these engines for not silly money so I never tended to go down the bike parts option much.
