Hi guys, My names Sean. I'm starting this thread to ask for some advice.

My mate currently has a Saxo VTS that he has built with throttle boddies and has asked me if I can map it for him. I'm a little bit stumped with software for it. Ideally I'd like to live map it on the fly so I can tweak things then drive it, and continue.

I know a lot of you are going to say take it to a tuner. He doesn't want to, and wants me to map it. I currently own an Astra SRi turbo MK4. I've mapped that myself. I have home made det cans, I have a wideband that I have setup so I can stick it in the backbox and then watch fueling. The Z20LET ECU is an arse too, as everything is done via load, no simple fueling maps! I know how to setup fueling and ignition so that I don't get high CF values, and low knock voltages. My car is an animal atm, most of my mates with maps from tuners I can blow them away like there stood still. Purely cause I've propley set my car up, as a pose to a generic map.

Anyone know of any software that can help me?

Thanks in advance guys.

I don't know any software to map the std ecu, it is possible as chipwizards do it but i doubt they will share there info. If you get a predator ecu that would be plug and play and you could map it from megasquirt, luthor1 on here supplies them, his technical support is very good also

Single or 3 plug ECU? You need the relevent hardware & software. Its no secret to what it is plenty of places use it but its not cheap. I dont understand why your friend thinks everywere does base maps though?

Also you cannot map the standard ECU on the fly. Hence why road mapping on it is an absolute bitch and almost a pointless task imo (Single Plug im refering too)

Unsure on the exact ECU at this stage mate.

I take it mapping is like mine then? Tweak a map, load it up, give it a run. Needs tweaking, then you tweak again and reflash?

When you say its not cheap, what software/hardware is it? Can Kess do it?

Yea pretty much, just a re-flash balls about, Kess can do 3 plug if you have one iirc im not sure if it does the single's. I know the software we use for the singles will also do the 3-plugs though. We also have a Kess but i havnt used that yet:n:

Thanks for responses guys. From what I've been reading, Bosch ME7.4 is 3 pin ECU and Magneti Marelli IAW is single plug ECU.

Bosch is what I'm used to, so im kinda hoping it is a bosch ECU. Although if my memory serves me right, I'm thinking its a single plug.

I'm going to see the car, so will know more later. Will post back my findings.

Update - had a look at the car earlier. It's got the single plug ECU. Anyone know anything that works with it?
