Currently in process of turbo'ing my car and need to find a smaller oil filter i know they sell them on at speed.. but i was just wondering if any fit the mk1 filter conversion that are just as small that i could buy from halfords or my local car place? as ive heard from a few places they think the renault 5 gt filter fits ? :S
But id rather have peace of mind from someone on here if they know a smaller oil filter that does fit :y: if not ill just have to go for the at speed one
Cheers guys :)

I'm running a 5 gt filter on mine fits fine but you only gain 20mm.

yup, Many renfaults use a short stumpy filter, its the same diameter but about half the height and the same M20 thread.

just go to your local motorfactor and ask for an older renault filter, you'll find them fitted to loads of cars, the thread size is usually stamped on the bottom.

just had a quick googlefu for ya, fram part number is PH9928, they're 60mm tall and should cost you under a fiver, there may even be some smaller ones out there, just find a friendly motorfactor parts man on a quiet day ;)

£2.80 from andrewpage for a mahl. Just remember the smaller filter has less surface area inside so the service intervals are shorter.
