If I was to get another saxo as a project could I put a dc5 vtec engine in if I wanted to? or would that need extensive work on the front of the chassis? and obviously the wiring loom would need replacing with the new engine but would it complicate making thing work within the car?
I have seen a saxo with a 2.2 prelude engine shoved in the back but I don't know how complex this is to do?

Yes it would require work for mounting points, gear selection, drive shafts, exhaust. Loom wouldnt need to be changed, just use DC5 engine and interior loom along with clocks and fuel pump etc.
If you are asking questions as basic as this then you should even attempt it. Not yet anyway, maybe once you have some knowhow and not need to ask questions like this anyway..
btw, rather than spending thousands on a dc5 engine and gearbox etc just get a H22 engine :y:

I have done an engine change before on an escort but went from a 1.3 to a 1.6 and it was relatively easily, left the loom part to my uncle though. Was just curious if you could actually put different engines in from other model vehicles.

With knowhow or contacts along with time and money anything is possible.
