i just changed my mk2 vts cambelt, was quite a stright forward job but then i have done a load of cam belts before just never on a citroen and never on a manual tensionor.

how long do you think i need to run it in a little before i thrash the bitch and start red lining again lol? couple of hundread miles?

what have you changed? if its just the belt then no running in required.

what a stupid question lol of course its not like you could put the cover on with them there, the only one i could imagine any amaturers ever leaving in is the flywheel lockign pin under the car to lock the crank

oh and my local citroen garage wanted £324 to change the cambelt, the belt cost £38 so i saved myself £286 doing it myslef

crap ive not long had mine done! if i knew you could do it its not to far would have given you money to do mine instead

it took a couple of hours to do and i work on cars all day as i am a mechanic for mercedes benz but i have never worked on a citroen before with a manual tensioner

Strictly speaking you don't need to run in the engine again if it's only the cambelt, but best to give it 50 miles or so to settle in to it's new home.

well i did put the cover on but lets just say i didnt but i would still had to take the pins out for the engine mount and ECU to fit on coz i couldnt realy leave thos off could i
