i have been told by a few people that the c2 gearbox will fit into a saxo, does anyone know if this is true as i need a new gearbox????

Pretty sure the c2 uses a hydraulic clutch and cable shift rather than linkages, so its probably going to be a fair bit of work, but it is do-able i'd imagine, although (going by your user name) better options are probably rebuilt MA box with a slipper, or a BE box conversion (depending on whether you're munching MA boxes). I'm sure someone will be along to back me up/correct me shortly though.

Right fair enough, to be honest as i said, you're probably going to have to do some messing around with the c2 one, be better off getting a vtr box off here once you get 100 posts? Or on ebay, i sold my last lot of gearboxes for about 50-80 quid each. Obviously bolt straight on no problems.

c2 box will fit as stated, but you'll need to convert saxo pedal box to hydraulic clutch and fit the c2 cable shift. the box itself is no strnger then the saxo box, suffers all the same problems, only advantadges are a lighter clutch, smoother change and a better chance of finding a good low mileage item.
