At what temperature does the radiator fan switch mounted in the rad turn on/create a circuit?

Water boiling point I think. I thought mine was bust so I took it out and put it in with boiling water and you can see the plug type thing opens

should not be at boiling point!!..think its about 88-90
just depends..ive got a 90 one on my car but mines aftermarket..
if it cam on at boiling point it would probs boil over and poss cook your head gasket before the fan could do anything about it

Where on the gauge does it come on for you guys? I've wired in the temperature sensor now with fan over ride but it doesn't seem to come on, but then its only got just over halfway on my gauge.
Haha @ the boiling point comment

should be about 3/4 as said
but the standard gauges arent the best and are pretty inconsistent
long as its coming on..and its not in the red i wouldnt worry about it

Will see what it does tomorrow then, fan over ride works just fine. Might be a dodgy rad switch so I might get one of those thermistor kits as all the wiring is my own anyway
