depends how you define 'enough power'. supercharging is certainly easier stresswise on major componants such as gearbox and driveshafts etc than turbocharging, the 'chargers themselves seeming to be the one weakpoint with them failing quite often. definitely do-able and will certainly give you enough power to put a large smile on your face. :)

You can add a decent exhaust, brakes, suspension onto that little lot aswell.

Then theres insurance.

Are you still considering it?

you have such a way with words mate lol but im lookin at all my options. my only thing is that i still think i can get some decent power out of my vtr. or im lookin for another insurance friendly fast car but hard to find mate. ok be honest with out into serious money how much power can you get out of a vtr to just put a smile on your face but not doin anythin stupid. i mean cams, remap, down pipe, ported and polished head, not as far as forged pistons or so on. what you think as you know a fair bit from the sound of things?

if you want decent power then no point fucking around with the vtr engine as you'll only get bored of it( unless you want to boost it). better off spending the money on sourcing and fitting a decent low milage vts engine.

Word on the street is GMC have a new more affordable Throttle body conversion on the cards but I dont know how well they work on the VTR's so you may need the VTS to see any real power.

I'm off to see a man about a dog now ;).....

throttle bodies would be an idea but like you said if not used on a vts engine you might not see any decent power gains. thinkin to just save and wait til im 21 to see if can afford a faster car and insurance doesnt kill me
