Hello everyone. I know I've been asking a lot of q's but this is important that I get the car going again.

Basically I can turn the car over now, but every time I do, the starter motor makes a loud whirring sound as if it is constantly on. This is after changing the wires around. Whilst it is on, the Earth connector sparks a little bit.

Now, once the car is on, the battery light is NOT on, but the battery does not get a charge. If I start the car and the starter motor happens to not come on, then the battery light on the dash does come on. Hope this makes sense?!

Can't figure it out. Might have to call a mobile mechanic. Thanks.

Like it's still spinning trying to engage (as if you were keeping the key to position 3 even though the engine is running)? Sounds like the exciter wire is still receiving current.

This is after changing the wires around. What wires did you change?

Whilst it is on, the Earth connector sparks a little bit. Bad. Shouldn't be any sparks there. Loose cable?

Now, once the car is on, the battery light is NOT on, but the battery does not get a charge. OK, so the alternator is working, but your battery isn't connected to the alternator... Check the cable.

If I start the car and the starter motor happens to not come on, then the battery light on the dash does come on. Hope this makes sense?!
No, it doesn't.... Try again.
