Might be irrelevant to you but I went to just a normal key cutting place, and he had a machine what read the code out of my old key and put it in to another one for £20, Just check around your local key cutting places.

If you have the ecu code --this on a palstic credit card and is 4 digits --then there are lots of machines that can code a new key to your car with this code no. .
this code no. allows full acees to all functions on the ecu that are user adjustable .like fitting new ecu or transponder or keys
without that code --no
a dealer will supply that code for around £30 if you do not have it
yes, if you remove the chip from the old key+ fit to new key or stick it to the transponder ring around the steering lock that will work .

carefully with a small screwdriver. It's quite small [ ]
Most cars with remote start as part of the alarm will require the transponder to be stuck to the pickup ring, as John said.

should pull out from a slotted plastic part on the key. Can mangle it quite easily though

I meant from the key fob, I can't seem to shift it to be able to put it in one of these - I had the separate fob with one big button and one small.

yes, I know what you meant I think. You want to remove the transponder from the key. As I said, it's tiny. Use a small screwdriver to prise it out. Be careful.

Not a saxo key obviously, but even this is larger than the standard saxo transponder.

I wasn't able to see your picture mate.
I want to keep my key as that isn't broken, it's my old 2 button fob that has broken and I wanted to upgrade to the above flip key with 2 buttons (lock and unlock) is it possible as I know the circuits are different etc, I know people on here have done it but I was unable to see how?
I had one of these - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Citroen-2-Button-Saxo-Xsara-Picasso-Berlingo-Remote-Key-FOB-case-Shell-NEW-/170851253873?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item27c7873e71#ht_3067wt_1273
I am talking about the key fob here mate, as in the top black box which I am sure I have to take out as it won't be supplied on an empty case as per the above ebay advert!
Do I just need to move the battery and touching plates underneath?
