saxo vtr holding revs?

ok my i started up my saxo today left it for abit and the gave it a little rev and i took my foot off the accelerator and the revs shot straight up to 6000K and i dunno why there was nothing holding the throttle open as that was fully closed any answers please?

Could be your idle control valve, try taking it off and giving it a clean.

Make sure you throttle body is returning okay, you could lube it up.

mines was doing the same just stripped the throttle body cleaned it with carb cleaner and refitted it and now its fine... also if its not in correct it can get air in past the housing so check that its fitted properly and tight in...
