Citroen and Peugeot from around the same age. Most of the 1.6 models will have this engine. You can spot the mk1 engines with the black rocker cover.

Are you looking to change just the rod or the whole engine? If its just the rod, then I'm pretty sure that all vtr's and vts's use the same rods

Of your changing the whole engine, only the mk1 vtr uses that engine, but again all vtr and vts engines will fit straight in, but you be best to change the ecu, wiring loom etc if you are putting a different engine in

If its a standard engine, it will be cheaper to just get a used vtr engine for about 100-200quid.

why would you change loom and ecu ???

If it snapped a rod I would just fit another engine

Can get anew engine for less then the cost of repair

Don't have to worry about any other damage it may have caused

Edit- beaten to it :p

Also the vts and vtr rods are diff.. You can use S rods in an R block but would also have to use the piston aswel

you can get a black top and silver top 90bhp vtr engiees and the 106 xs used the same engine use all your original bits that you can, and try and get a bare vtr block will be able to pick one up for pennies, replace yours with what ever your car has originally ie black or silver top will come in to problems if you repalce with a engine from a different year

or a prime time to fit a 16v engine, no extra work to fit one over a vtr engine bar the fuel return (unless you have a black top which have fuel returns)
