I'm currently running a gt17 on my vtr, I want to change to a t25, on eBay there are those adapter flanges to change from 1 turbo to another? What else would need to be changed ? Just wondering how much work is involved etc?

Your downpipe will need shortened because turbo will sit lower, may sit at a further recess to the side too

T25 is old school and good used ones are becoming harder to get hold of. Most new ones are just cheap china copy (trash fodder). There are also many different spec T25 turbos and odds are most would not be suitable for your requirements. However if you where to fit one odds are you would require a shorter oil return pipe and down pipe as people have mentions. You may find the actuator on most T25 may not clear on your setup so you may have to think about a custom mount on that or moving the rad or fan about a bit. Odds are you would also have to look at your mapping. If your planning on running more boost you may have to think about sensor and fueling such as injector sizing. Really need a more specific question of what your doing to give a good answer.

If you want to run a t25 to fit the cituning kit you'll have issues as ax pointed out, this is one with the same fitment type, don't even mess with 5 bolt type exhaust ones as you may as well just make a new manifold and downpipe to do that, or you'll ruin a decent kit and give yourself a large head ache lol
Mate has one on his, the actuator fouls the cranks sensor, so the sensor has had to be modified and yet to see if it works
In the Saxo it just cleared the rad, but in his 106 there's no way it's gonna go in without modification
The gt17 isnt a bad turbo if it's the original cituning spec one, should be able to run 14psi or so on it fairly easy as the have a 360 thrust bearing

Is the GT17 a three bolt flange then?
I have a TD04 for sale, ran it on my AX VTS at 0.5 bar, they are a very quick to spool turbo and you can run 1.5 bar on them, very well suited for a VTS engine.
What ever turbo you get you may need to clock it (rotate the housings) so the outlet is pointing in the right direction and the oil feed/drain lines up.
Mine would also prob need rotating but it's a turbo thats been rotated recently - you dont want to be buying one that has never been done.

Nope it was the 4 bolt flange and my problem is solved I have forts the T25 got it off a Saab 93 same flange wtf just the housing was a lot bigger( inlet ) I then changed the inlet housing for a rover 620i with an external dump valve and tat housing is huge ill try and upload pics but I don't have image shack or anything like that! And as for te crack sensor just had to make a bracket up as it was touching the crak sensor but all is fine now jut need for andy off Saxp to map my predator ecu
