hello guys

first off iam new to the saxo
i just got a 1.1 from a friend and it runs just as fast as a turd going down the drain
so iam planning to drop a bigger engine in
ive allready tried searching but i just got a giant headache from it
iam not looking for a racing car yet but i just want a good base to start from

so the question is: what 1.4 or 1.6 engine would fit easy into my 2000 phase 2 spi engine bay

and follow up: what do i need and what do i need to do to get this fitted?

i just want to get a bigger engine in without too much hassle and maybe make a how-to while iam at it

any engine 1.1/1.4/1.6/1.6 16v is just as easy to fit as another, so firstly jsu pick which engine you want, only you will no which engine you want in terms or power or cost etc...

most people will just say fit a vts 1.6 16v engine as if your goign to the trouble you might as well fit the best engine, these conversions usually cost £200-400 in parts, or if your not too bothereda bout having the 'best' then youc an fit a vtr engine probably the 'slowest' one which is worth fitting, these conversion can be done for £100-200 in parts, people usually cant give away vtr engines as not a lot of people want them but it depends on what you get in the 'kit' ie engine, gearbox, loom and UNLOCKED ecu and what bits you replace ie cambelt, waterpump, clutch, service parts etc

the main thing you want to take note of is make sure you get one that is plug and play in your engine ie single or triple plug ecu

so basicly the 1.6 vtr conversion will be the easiest and cheapest way?
and with te loom sorted i can just put it in without to much hassle?

i dont mind doing an 8v conversion.. the 30 hp is just what i need and i can allways upgrade it
i could never get 30 hp out of this engine under 500 euro
do you guys know wich 8v 1.6 has a single plug?

vw golf mk2 with vr6.. hell on wheels
and we've got 1 kia picanto 1.0 :wall:
0 to 100 km/h in about 3 minutes :) and probably the most hopeless car ever and it comes with an on/of switch gas pedal
