Just a quick question is there any difference between mk1 and 2 1.1 gearboxes? as my old mk2 could do 60 in 2nd and 80 in 3rd where my current mk1 will do 55 in 2nd and 75 in 3rd. I was just wandering as i though all 1.1 gearboxes where the same :P

When you see 60 in second you just wanna facepalm......
Probably a faulty speed sensor in the first one tbh.

5mph difference is likely to do with speedo inaccuracy.
Shouldn't be doing 60mph in 2nd on a 1.1, box won't last long.
