What do people use to clean their panel filter?

Can AutoSmart G101 be used to clean a panel filter. Spray on all over, agitate with an old tooth brush and rinse it all out? Then leave to dry before refitting?

Any other method?

As in if the filter has car oil, dirt and grime on it

on my K&Ns I use soapy water and a toothbrush, let it dry and then re oil

i use the cleaning kit from k&n to do mine the spray cleaner then rinse then reoil

I wouldn't have thought so Harry,

I hit mine with Gunk & APC give it a thorough rinse dry & re-oil using K+N gear.
