Hi, I just bid on a pipercross induction kit in Ebay, then my mate told me that something to do with the foam causes the oil in the engine to burn up or something. I can't see it myself but does anyone know anything about it?

Cheers

bit of advice, dont get a pipecross unless its a viper,if youre wanteing an induction kit get a green or k and n but i would highky recomend you get an enclosed kiy like bmc, green, viper, typhoon k+n.still sound shit hot and will improve performance beter than an open air

he was probably on about the fact that its an open filter with the foam on display in the engine bay, which will be prone to heatsoak as itll be drawing in the hot air from under your bonnet, and thus will not work all that effectively.

Itll make a nice induction roar, but wont do anything for your performance.

Sheilded/enclosed are best, unless your gonna take a headlight out and position the cone filter right at the front of the bay ! lol
