View Full Version : Bike bodies question, brake servo related

Ok so I'm venturing into the world of bike bodies / ITB's for my valver.
I have bought myself some bike bodies and I'm in the process of making up a manifold for them from a cnc cut inlet flange and some relevant size tube to weld to this to attach the bodies to.
I would just go for a sandy brown inlet but a bit out of my price range for the time being.

Ok my question is would one manifold tube provide enough vacuum to operate the brake servo unit to its full potential?

Or will I have to sort out a system that would utilise all four inlet tubes.
On the standard inlet it's taken just after the throttle body so it's receiving vacuum from all four cylinders, hence my question lol.

Cheers

just weld an outlet to cylinder number 4 or 1 inlet runner/// whichever way you look at it

itll be fine..it only needs vacuum and plenty from 1 cylinder

my jenveys have two vacuum pipes coming off cylinder 2 and 4, not sure if its needed though as plenty others only have one

always wondered myself..but imagine its to balance the vacuum loss and help it not cut out?

I take off is enough
joining 2 cylinders is more likely to cuase charge robbing + maybe upset the idle somewhat-no advantage at all

Ok that clears up that question then cheers guys.

I also have thought of another question which is about the injectors.
I want to use pico type injectors in the inlet tubes, in a similar position to where they sit on the standard plastic inlet.

How do I go about doing this, is there a pico injector socket of some sort I can buy and weld in, or can I just drill a hole in the tube and secure them with a bracket of some sort.

Has nobody used pico injectors with throttle bodies?.....

This for 8v or 16v

16v mate,

clio 172/182 injectors are a straight fit into a 16v rail, or raising the pressure to 4 bar on standard ones should be enough if your spec isnt too high

You'll need to weld some bosses Into whatever you're making your inlet from

Ie if making an alloy inlet, some bosses of alloy

Steel.. The same

Can make your own from a bar cut to length and drilled out to the correct size :y:
