whats the better cam for the mk1 vtr ? well whats the best power achieved without a map and with 1 , is it the kent pt40k , or the newman ph3 ? wich to people prefer, the kent state the pt40k can produce 11bhp ? ph3 is around the same , wich cam feels more pokey ?

any cam without a map is gonna be lumpy as shit low down waste of money if u aint gonna do it proper

No cam will give the power they state without a remap... And youll prob find in the small print with breathing mods as well...

Ph3 seems the more popular. You'd need a good remap after.
Am I right in thinking that the OEM ECU can't be re-mapped? You need a piggy back ECU? (Dastek Unichip?) instead and this can be mapped and work in conjunction with the standalone ECU?

They can be remapped iirc but the 3 plugs are alot harder... I cant remember who does it im sure blackie can remember

Nope, you can map the standard ecu.

no clever clogs if you time it properly it can run sweet you heard of ajustable pulleys , also some cams are good low down and some are good top end depends wich cam you get :homme::homme:

depends on what cam , not all cams need a MAP to set the fueling

To get the best out of them it's advisable.
Let's be honest most people are not going to fit a very mild cam profile for a small gain. Not when you factor in the cost of fitting (inc new Cam belt etc).
you might as well piss into the wind.

yes i agree , it is advisable , well no who ever fits a ph1 imo are on crack i wouldn't my self anyway
