i cant get my 8v rocker cover gasket to seal :wall:
put a new gasket on it, no luck, tightened it down stupidly tight, still no luck, then put some black gasket seal on it, and it still leaks :n:
any suggestions?
thanks in advance

Youve bent it by tightening it down too hard, fit a replacement cover

This is likely your problem, over tightening is a big no no. The design isnt the best as it is with just the 2 studs and nuts holding it down.

Should seal with just a slight smeer or oil on the seal where it will need the head. Sounds like its warped.

Cheap ebay/ euro car parts gasket by any chance? I had this problem with the cheaper ones.

Ended up just buying one from Citroen for £13 solved the problem.

Sometimes the baffle plate gets warped, preventing the rocker cover sitting 100% true.
