So I was taking out my air filter on my 2000 saxo 1.4 furio and have accidentally snapped wot looks like a little hose that goes into the side of it and there is little spots of oil coming out it do I now need to get a new air filter box???

Its the breather pipe from the crankcase I suspect.

Does the pipe go into it or does a bit come out???

assume it will be similar to my vtr, there is a sticky out bit on the air box which slots into the end of and sort of clips on the breather, if its that whats broken you could replace what ever needs replacing ( i assume the airbox) or put the pipe in a bottle or somthign just to catch the small drops of oil

Cheers mate might go with the bottle idea that won't harm the engine tho eh????

providing it is the breather pipe it will make no difference to the engine no :)

yeah, there is probably a hole in the airbox now though lettin unfiltered air in i think? migh be best to cover the hole :) you'll probably loose the nice noise then thou :( lol

ahh sweeeett, they do make a nice sound tbh :y: took mine off thou, think it was sucking more hot air than anything so i had no top end power at all with it :(

+1 to this.
Potato's are better for your engine than an open cone filter. Every car i get seems to have one on it, first thing i do is put a standard air box and a decent panel filter in there. The difference it makes is day and night.
But to the OP, I would cover the hole up lol, unfiltered air is not what you want in your engine... Could contain anything!

i wont ever fit another cone, although i gotta admit it gave more power on the lower revs

So was wondering if a oil catch tank would be best instead of a small container???
