well people, does anyone know what the standard bore size is on the exhaust from the cat to the back box? mine looks fairly small and i measured the outside and its only 1.5 inches, i was thinking it might be an exhaust off a lesser model or is it the standard size? Because i can get a standard cat back pipe brand new for €40 but it doesnt say what size it is so no point if its the same, and aftermarket ones with the centre silencer are working out about €170 or more for a 2inch. I already have a scorpion decat which its 2inch and am looking for a 4 branch aswell to put on before i get it remapped when the cams are in, im assuming im better having that all sorted before the map than getting in after?

Also is there anything else you would recommend i get before having it mapped for the cams like an adjustable fuel pressure regulator or is standard ok? Ill be running 743's and only other mod i have is an enclosed induction kit

The mapping is the most expensive part. Get the car how you want it before that.

Forget an adjustable FPR stick - pointless on your setup. Stick with the standard one.

Changing exhaust would be best done before the remap as I say above - it will affect the map (not hugely but somewhat).

Don't bother with a standard system, get an aftermarket of some sort - I personally recommend the KAM racing systems.

yeah thats what i was thinking, make sure everything im doing is done before the map! I was looking at the Kam Racing exhausts alright thats where i got the prices on the centre piece :) I think a Toyo Sports manifold would suit me best up front as they seem to have a better ground clearance which i need as my car is fairly low. The last manifold on my 106 GTI was the type that had the 2 pipes joining into one over and under each other rather than side by side like the Toyo and it was always scraping and flatening :wall:

Its some job trying to get the standard ECU mapped over here in Ireland aswell, everwhere i tried said they only map aftermarket ECU's but i eventually found one place that do it over 100miles away from where i live!
