hi am planing on fitting a 4-2-1 mani to mora and want some advice on jacking front end of car up.

i don't have any axel stand so had an idea if there is a way to lift front up from one point and rest front wheels on to 2 solid logs to secure it.

what would you recommend

cheers lee

Simple answer... buy / borrow two axle stands. You're going to have to be under the car to fit the manifold. I know i wouldn't trust anything like logs if i'm underneath the car. Nothing like a sump to the face with a tonne of force.

great is it a easy fit, and looks like it has 2 lamba sensor holes so am guessing that the one on the top of mani goes in first hole and one under car goes on last hole?

To be honest if you plan on owning and working on any car you own...ever, you'd be better off buying axle stands first.
They will be 100% worth the investment.

As long as the logs aren't all shitty then sure mate. I use big arse pieces wood under the chassis and the fucker ain't going anywhere.

yea really easy to fit, and yes two lambas. i swapped my studs to stainless bolts and it was even easier. the mani its self aint too bad quality wise either and comes with all you need to fit.

safest way if you simple have to use logs is f you jack the car up with it in gear and slip the logs under the tyres then lower it but thats still dangerous and I wouldnt really recommend it at all for the sake of stands. Surely neighbours to you might have some? Most people have some in their garage

You bought a manifold before getting axle stands, priorities!

I just used a trolley Jack at first then i got my dads big old ramps out as i had a chew on with joining it to the cat so was under the car for ages.

First and most nerve wrecking is getting all studs out as a whole (or just a nut) after that its a "play in the park".
