i have a mk2 vts, i can also get my hands on a mk2 vtr lump and box that has been cammed and remap'd for £125 (is that a good price)
the plans, im trying to keep this on a budget so advice will be highly thanked.
i am hoping to use the original mani for the conversion it is the one with the big square flange that bolts to the cat so was thinking of putting an inch pipe with square flange at the top then turbo flange at the bottom will this work? also what is the best turbo to use i will be using a dp decompression plate, and what work will be needing to run a vtr lump in a vts

Dont bother with the 8v.
Plenty of people have cut and shut the standard manifold. You'll be ok with that.
If you're doing it on a budget, why are you buying a decompression plate? Either run standard compression and you won't have to take the engine apart, or if you want lower compression, run two head gaskets.

was told if i run 2 hg it will just blow 5 miles later or keeping it stranded it will blow. i want to use the 8v due to the mani type will be easy for the conversion, plus the car is a daily so looking to build the 8v tonight and tomoz morning then ready to fit Sunday ready fro Monday

several people don't touch the engine (IE, don't take it apart) - and have had good results on standard everything - Sophia_Bush is who to look for on these forums. Whoever told you it'll blow 5 miles later is talking shite tbh.
Agreed, the 8v is easier in some regards. Best person to seek assistance from on these is either Gav (Sophia_Bush) or Andy (Blackie) as they've both been there and have experience of good and bad issues.
When you're ready for proper power, come back and see me ;)

You can make a 16v adapter manifold using the manifold from a c2 vtr
Or pug 307 1.6 16v as well

and you need to work out how much money you have to spend first
budget 2k and upwards if you want it to last at least a little while

Andy's basically hit the nail on the head there. If you say what your budget is there'll be advice that we can give depending on that. No point us giving you a spec for 400bhp when you only have £2k to play with for example :)

search my thread
can have the full conversion minus the clutch, the ecu and the injectors for £1200..that includes the engine which has just been put in, new belts and water pump etc etc
that with a full 2.5" stainless exhasut etc too
ill even give you the maps i have for the ecu..so you just need to buy a second hand pred

injectors..mine arent for sale
you could get some the same as mine for about £130 i think
but if you dont want to run more then 180bhp theres no need to get ones as big as mine, could pick some up for about £50 that will do just fine
can be ready whenever anyone wants it :y:
