As topic, as we cant get an turboconverted car thru MOT, without put it back to original spec, im lookin at AN fittings, so i can plug it easily with an AN hat.
Is an10 to small for an oil return, above the oil level in the sump?

an10 is the size I (+titch and Ollie) use. It's perfectly fine :)
Why can you not get it through an MOT? Are you not in the UK?

Ytterby is in Sweden !
That explains that then...
In answer - AN10 is ideal. :)

welshpug is right :).
Okay, cause the straight AN10 fitting ( this one http://www.h2mracing.se/webbutik/images/B10-AN8-STR.jpg ) has an inside of 11,65mm isn't that a little to small?
I read between 15-20 is ideal for the return.
Thanks.

This is interesting. Where did you read this?
What turbo are you using? A ball bearing turbo needs around 45psi on max engine rpm. Typically this is restricted from the standard oil pressure by a 1mm restrictor in the turbo oil inlet. I can't see a 1mm hole, with 45psi behind it, outflowing an 11mm outlet at atmospheric pressure.
Looking at some specs, recommended outlet size for T/GT2X series turbos is AN8 minimum, AN10 recommended.
For sure, I've never suffered from any problems using this setup (AN10 fitting) and I run quite high power.

15-20mm ideal? Well, when i search for oil return, its almost always between 15-20mm, the bigger oil return the better it says.
mitsubishi td04hl-13t from an volvo v70.
I guess i try with the an10 then, i know i can drill the straight fitting a little bit bigger.
And you're not allowed to change anything on the cars in sweden, but an -76 you can change engine etc, and before 89 (i think) you are allowed to tune or change engine, but only for 10% hk and 15%Nm , im not 100% sure on the numbers tho.

That sucks Bim about not changing anything. Will you have trouble if you are stopped by the police or anything?
I just phoned my turbo supplier who agreed with us both to some extent hehe.
He has commented that the -10 is likely fine on a GT28/GT30 sized turbo, but it depends to some extent on the backpressure from the turbine setup as the bearings oil seal are sealed only with backpressure.
He would recommend -12 where possible, but said -10 would be acceptable. No smaller however. I think given this, I would fit -12 if you have the ability, as the internal size is what... 14mm or something?

Yep, will get an fine for everything that the police/law doesnt approve.
Like on my S70 T5 -99 its not legal to change rims, as they are not 'made' with the car.
AN10 hose are 14,29mm its just that straight fitting that was smaller :( (Those specs from the site i will buy them from anyway)
I think i'll start of with AN10.
And i want AN10 so i can just remove the turbo and hoses and plug the AN10 sump fitting with http://www.h2mracing.se/webbutik/images/FT053-8.jpg

Hey baz - that's a great solution :)
So you will swap the manifold etc for a standard looking one? That would be a pain every year!
Can't even change the wheels - ouch!

This is the sort of stuff they're trying to slowly sneak in over here.... I reckon in 5 years or so we could well be in the same position!

Yes i will need to change everything back to original (almost original, open air filter, sport exhaust etc, is something they almost never mention, but its not acceptable to change it..)
For example if i installed another engine managemant, say predator. I got one map for the turbo build, and one map for the original n/a setup, and they noticed i have an other management they could... 'Doom' the car.. Which means i need to restore it 100% original, and then get a paper from citroen in france or something that tells it's restored to 100%.. But how could they, as the car in sweden and they are in france? So, if thats happened i f-cked..
This happened this fella -> ( http://www.garaget.org/?car=186121 ) , the police had an flying inspection, and noticed it aint original, as you could see on some pictures :)
Well wheels etc and bigger brakes some inspectionguys dont bother saying anything about that if it installed correct.
And what the 'MOT' checks:
