looking at getting an induction kit for our saxo vts,

will be using for rallycross so more interested in squezing abit more performance out rather than the sound of the car,

Anyone know what would be best to be looking at?

Thanks

one with a big filter.
best option imo a standard box with a K&N panel, rigged with a decent cold air feed.

Hello Timzlife!

At the moment im using JR Air Induction Kit, without any other modifications and to be honest I can't feel any effect. One friend of mine told me to try K&N Gen2 they are expensive but there will be a noticeable effect. As @m4tt274 said the cheaper way to improve your air induction system is to buy K&N panel filter and to provide cold air - the most important thing at all.

Cheers!

Thanks choko_h,

will look into the cost of the Gen2, trying to keep cost down but without missing out on performance atm.

If we relocate the battery and get a few 90 bends with a big cone filter on the end down by the passenger headlight would that be anygood, anyone know?

Is thier any proven gains from any of these induction kits from rolling roads etc?

Really you want to have an enclosed induction system.

I would fit the Simota Aeroform 2 (http://www.kamracing.co.uk/car-tuning/citroen/citroen-saxo/saxo-engine/enclosed-induction-kits/citroen-saxo-1-6-16v-vts-simota-aeroform-ii-induction-kit.html) rather than the K&N

KN GEN2's sound absolutely epic. Even on a standard car.

Routing it near the headlight would be better than at the side of the engine.

I've got a Big green cotton filter in a raceland cold air feed scoop, Which I have wrapped in heat reflective tape, even the 90' elbow is wrapped - so cold to touch.

Keep the standard airbox with a cold air feed, perhaps with a different element if you can afford it but I'd spend the money on some thing more useful.

the size of that filter is TINY! compare it to the surface area of the standard and im not certain but wouldnt it be less? reg. Kams Simota suggestion

We don't need headlights on the car so possible to have the air intake almost outside the car, in the void, would this bring any befefits?

Every little helps IMO.

I doubt it will be of any benefit being outside the car. Better off working out where the high pressure areas on the bodywork are and creating an airbox to draw cold air from that,

What about the BMC CDA filter with a cold air hose feeding it from the headlight?

Do you have any RR printouts Kam to back up the gains? Or anyone tested any of these properly?

We don't test products ourselves currently but customers have emailed us saying they have made good gains using the Green Filter upgrades.

Just to note that the standard simota filter is only good for a bog standard engine. It cannot flow enough air for decently modified cars.

We need to run a standard engine with Stockhatch racing so the simota wouldnt be a problem just trying to see what options we have.

How does it compare to other enclosed kits like the Pipercross Venom or the BMC CDA?

The BMC is really a universal kit and lacks a decent cold air inlet. I'd say the Viper will have the same issue. Alloy corrogated flexi hose really does not really cut the mustard and is easily damaged, and rarely is long enough to duct from a good location.
