Ok garage thought they'd stopped it and it was fine for a couple of days now its back with a vengence, their diagnosis that stopped it for a couple of days was tight fan belt, if that helps. Just had timing belt done by them and the nose definitely seems to be coming from lower down on the left hand side of the engine.

Sorry for no images on video as it was done at night again.

The noise is a lot clearer on this one, does increase with engine speed but couldn't find the throttle cable in the dark :P

Cheers

belt covers or over tight cam belt . you can ignore checking the cam belt tension if you like ,but when the water pump goes --don,t say you were not warned
could be alternator --drop off the belt and see if noise goes

Im as mechanically minded as a spoon so I wouldn't know how to check the tension, the garage is having another look today but they checked the tension when I took it back an they said it was fine. I was told by a youtube mechanic it sounds like a worn bearing from the fan belt being too tight.

Hopefully it will be sorted today. Thanks for the reply

They checked everything yesterday and said timing belt etc is fine, they changed the auxilary belt and seems fine! (Hopefully)
