I know theres loads of these sorts of threads and what ever, but just sorted my slow engine problems i had and want to sort out my induction now, i can get a new k&n panel filter for £28, where as i can get a green cotton one for £45. is it worth paying the extra, or just K&N?

If you like green....
but seriously the green has a slightly larger surface area as its hand made rather than by machine. Whether or not you can notice a difference will depend on the car.

K&N is not a bad brand at all, better buy it. My first panel fiter was K&N there was a great response with it, so I don\t thnk that you will have any problems with the K&N.
Cheers!

from what your saying its probably not worth it then, its a standard engine, probably best off saving the £17 and goin K&N?

I'm 100% sure that you wont feel any difference between the both. I've tried a lot of induction kits and panel filters. I don\t know the principie of their technology but from personal oservations I can say that you wont feel any difference. Choice is yours of course I\m just trying to help, no bad feelings. ;)

I've buyed a Apollo K&N maybe it's the last modification of my air induction system. If you are interested i can post my opinion. I decided to change my JR kit (the current) with it, because a friend of mine told me that the best filters for him are the K&N (he is manufacturin buggies). So think about it dude and make the better choice. It's not bad not a bad idea that you want to install a panel filter because in my opinion its well feeded with cold air!
Cheers!

ebay mate :) was the round filter for a phase 1 vtr, and i'd have said standard air feed would be good enough, i've filled in the little holes and stuff on mine though, and am going to loose the box thing, not sure of its purpose think its a resignator box or something, not sure if it will make any difference but oh well :P
