Basically cambelt tensioner went.
So rather than change the head i got a new engine for £80. Now its arrived its a mk1 :0 :(. so i was wondering can i swap out all the damaged parts aka valves ect for the mk 1 bits into my mk 2 head??
will thier be any complications or are they a strait swap?
any other thoughts would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Just fit the mk1 head. They are the same. You might have to fit the sensors off the mk2 head though, some might be different?

Will the sensors just swap over? which would they be

Yes. Screw them out then into the new head. I don't know if they are different, just I would do it for piece of mind tbh.

There are only a couple on the head anyway iirc, the two temp sensors beside the thermostat. Cant think of any others just now

the usual reason for cam belt tensioner to break is over tightening of belt when engine cold --so when its hot it streeses the bolt --
check belt tension when warm before fitting cam belt cover is best advice

Just fit the mk1 engine and swap over what ever you need by far the easiest option
