Right I'm new here so sorry if this is in the wrong section.

Story time, I bought the Saxo already boosted, it had a T1 turbo but that blow up apparently so it's running a T2! It has the fifth injector etc etc. Currently on 0.5 boost which I was told was running safe has ran around 12psi. I am guessing that the internals are all stock and not forged.

1) It's a 2001 so a mk 2 and I would like an intercooler as it doesn't have one, where on earth can you mount on and what intercooler can I use I've tried a stock Golf one no hope doesn't fit have been looking into a Rover 25 cooler but just thought I would check.

2) After recently lifting the oil filler cap and realising it is up to the eyes in 'mayo' I'm am guessing I will be in need of a head gasket soon, problem is I have no idea what gasket it will use can anyone let me know which one and where I can get one from.

3) This may seem like a silly question but what oil will it use, I gather it will be fully synthetic

I am just curious how much abuse and boost can stock internals take? I would like a remap in the summer just want to know the limit don't fancy fishing out my pistons out the sump.

Thank you in advance and sorry if it's in the wrong place

To be honest, with out trying to sound like a dick you could have found all the answers using the http://www.saxperience.com/skins/Saxperience/v3.5.1/coolblue/tabbar/inactive-search.gif button.

1. There are a few turbo'd saxos in the progress threads e.g. Blackie. Have a look what they use, may give you some ideas.

2. There are 3 variations of the VTR engine depending on the year it was made. Link to a thread (http://www.saxperience.com/forum/showthread.php?t=87916)showing the different engines, when you know this you should be able to work out the correct gasket.

3. Its all personal preference tbh, looking in a few progress threads of similar cars may help. Or you could ask the affiliated company: Opie Oils (http://www.saxperience.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=138) what they recommend.

Sounds like you bought one of those turbo doctor specials

Post some pics of the set up first.. It'll help decide what your next course of action should be

1) Any cooler can fit with some imagination, just get a small unbranded one from ebay will do the trick.

2) If it is fubard you need a multi layer steel repair gasket, just ring up a motor factors, you will also need the head skimmed etc, quite a lot of work really.

3) Oil depends on your budget, I use millers 10/60.

4) Hi Blackie :)

Might not be head gasket if its just a bit of mayo, breathers on the 8v like to gum up when doing short runs

Someone mention me?? lol

As Jungle says, if the head gasket has failed you'll need a Multi layer steel gasket, see if you can get one from a local motor factors.

Engine bay photo, it's not the best. Turbo is located in between the radiator and the engine, I will post another showing the front to see what kind of room I have to play with

(P.s I know it look massively untidy but this is an old photo currently in the process of cleaning and paint)

So basically I will be okay using any brand oil just as long as it's 10 60?

Does anyone know what sort of boost you can run without going forged?

Going to be honest with and most will back me up on this dude that is a turbodoc conversion which lets put it this way not well spoken about on here.

Does the turbo sit on the piss or is it quite straight? is the oil return high enough on the sump? whats the downpipe like? those are the main issues I would sort first getting intercooler to fit will be piss easy

Actually depends on engine management being used more than anything....on a 5th injector setup which TBH isnt the best way i wouldnt go much more than you have now, our 16v is runnung 1 bar on std internals, and jungles 8v is now doing 1.2 iirc. But both are on DTa standalone ecu's properly mapped.
