De cat question

Hey guys, would this be a de cat? Also, can you get a sportex manifold and keep the cat in? Or would that be pointless? Cheers lads

lol depends if you want a cat or not.

The cat is in the manifold on your mk2 vtr so you will need a 4-2-1 or a 4-1 manifold to de cat it.

You can use the sportex manifold to keep the cat

Or if you want to go the cheaper way you can also use a tubular manifold from a mk2 saxo then use the under car cat from the mk1 vtr and the centre section from a mk1 vtr also.

If you want to use a mk1 tubular manifold then you will need to convert the oil filter to the canister screw on to the block type.

Tbh I do want the cat Cos I Cba pissing about, so if I buy the sportex 421 I can keep the cat? What about that race tube? Will fit onto the cat or replace it?

no sportex made a manifold with a cat in it.

The cheapest and best option is to use a 4-1 for a mk2 then use the underbody cat and system from a mk1.

Does the vtr have a 4-1 standard then mate? I just want a deep throaty exhaust note, just bought a back box but not really much difference and now looking to change more like mani etc

Decat it and get an under car cat? The only messing about then is half hour before your mot to put that cat back on?
