Just fit as VTS lump! trolololol
Why would you want to put a Picasso engine in for, its 117BHP when the smaller CC VTS engine is 120BHP and more than likely easier to fit.

I think there are some seriously powered ax's here in greece with some kind of this engine.
They must use the block of it and put jp4 head on top, not really sure but have heard that in race mode they got 239 bhp
will see what i can find was on a performance magazine not long ago
Edit : My bad
The AX i was talking about has a c2 vts engine converted to a 1,8
here is the link , if anyone can translate ... that is

in standard form its barely worth the agro. the xu motor will need complete custom mounts. although most are now available off the shelf.but at a cost. you will also need custom shafts. let alone wiring it in.
if your dont think thats alot of work, youd be better to drop an xu10j4rs gti6 motor in, 170bhp with a decat alone.
also the steering rack is likely to need some fettling, and id be pretty sure the bulkhead will need boxing out to make room for the manifold.
if you fancy a decent project go for it. itl be far from easy. but it will be certainly different and a good challenge.

alex i was going to say it must be a squeeze to fit an xu in an ax.
i know the 1.8s are often used in certain race classes with bits and bobs from the old mi motor and the gti6 motor.

the gti-6 head will bolt straight on. Well it will on the 112bhp XU7 found in the 306.
Its alloy block so lighter so may help with the handling, but really that can even be sorted with a set of custom springs.
Everything will fit with the right skills. Its only a question of how and why. Its not going to just simply 'drop' in unless its a TU engine. Quite frankly if everyone sticks to TU engines it would be seriously boring.
Do a search. Its been discussed to death whether XU engines are a good idea in a saxo. Basically it will be IF you do it right.
This newer engine may be an EW engine which has benefits too, but you might want to look at the 206. Sandy can advise on tuning these as he thinks the base platform is far superior to the XU.

Its an all alloy engine that hasnt been stereotypically thrashed.
If your a decent fabricator it will be a piece of piss. No harder than other engine swaps you often see in other cars.
Though, i would say that the direct fit JP4 would probably suit better.

Thanks guys I just wanted to be different to everyone else lol. And thats what I thought its a unabused engine and you can pick them up quite cheap with hardly no miles on them. But im sure I can make it fit with a angle grinder and a welder lol

the gti-6 head will bolt straight on.
ERRORR Kev,
Picasso never used an XU engine, this is an all alloy with dry liner EW engine.
smaller capacity version of the 2.0 307 touring car EW that BIC had in his 106.
it will be a fair bit lighter than the TU5 afaik, similar construction to the Alloy TU's so a nice stiff crankcase.

I did say it might be EW. Still probably worth getting a 2.0 version though instead.
